Heated bed reads as -15 on the touch screen, there is a red led light (D2) shining on the mosfet and on the electronic board. Chaning the temperature on the touch screen does nothing. Rechecked all the wiring could not find anything wrong with the connections.
The servo that switches between the hotends is not working, the initial press of button 3 worked and then the switch to hotend 2 by pressing button 2 worked, but now it is not working, pressing button 1 and 3 does nothing and button 2 makes a buzzing noise.
Hotend 2 does not heat up, when trying to change the temperature of hotend 2 nothing on the touch screen works anymore, motion checks no longer work etc. I have to switch the printer off and then on again for anything else to work again.
The extruder for hotend 1 is also not working, nothing happens when trying to extrude. The green light of the filament sensor is working but the extruder motor does not work.
I have rechecked all the wiring an can't find anything wrong.
now it won't evenupload to the board
ok so if i'm getting no temp readings at all what would anybody suggest?
to fix the -15 reverse the connector for the thermistor. my second hotend had the same issue and this fixed it.
i have found when the printer is connected to a computer the touchscreen generally works for a limited time before freezing. also try using the Home All before trying to do anything.
check whether the second extruder is working by switching connections with the first extruder and see if the second one works connected there. that will rule out a bad wire, connector, or motor. first try it at the motor. if it works put connect them back correctly, then switch at the board. this will give you a focus for further investigation
@Rene Janeke The connection to the thermistor head end is dodgy unfortunately (at the black sleeve), they'll need to be replaced or if you're inclined repaired (beware, that's all heat shrink so it's a pain to tear back). @fg beware you may find your thermistor fails at some point soon.
I took it off and then placed it back on, unfortunately there was no change, still reading -15.
I ripped it of where the tape is (center of the heated bed). I've simply put it back in place with the tape provided. Nothing special.
@fg Did you rip it off the heated bed? Just tested the electronic board by switching the second extruder temp sensor into the TB slot and it does read, so the it might be a problem with my heated bed. The white cable does seem to be loose on the bed, not sure how to go about fixing it.
I also had a negative temperature reading but after accidentally ripping of the temp sensor and putting it back everything is working again... 😉
@Molotov Thank you for the response, I rechecked the temp probes, the wiring looks correct.
The bed reads as -15 so I don't think it gets a reading at all, but don't think its a wiring problem.
The 2nd head does read room temp so I think the thermistor reading is working, but when you try to change the temperature of the head on the touch screen it does nothing and everything else stops working. Movement of axis no longer work, setting the fans no longer work etc.
@Rene Janeke have you got the temp probes for the bed (TB) and 2nd head thermistor (TH2) around the right way? Sounds like what I've got going on with my 2nd head thermistor but my bed temp is correct (I've posted in the dual extruder board).
My servo worked, then stopped. I assume it has failed, not board. Extruder work fine.
2 issues, first, Z homing is not repeatable. Good clearance and then gouges bed hard Next print.
2nd issue is for bed level map, sensor too close to X0 Y0, so bed hits end stop
