As I've produced a few upgrades, I'll post them here rather than have people search for them

those new Z guides are looking really good!
I caved and bought 2 linear rails. like @Michael G one to replace the X axis guides and the other to replace the Z. i havent actually tried to print anything until they turn up. im hoping they will turn up today.
Well. I'm sure this isn't helping...
A straight edge placed at the bottom of the Z upright shows it's slightly bowed.
I'm still not happy with the Z gantry guides. As these are crucial for lead screw alignment, I'll get the Vernier out.
I only use PETG - PLA is for indoor decorations.
Try them, they're not going to overheat and should take a long time to wear noticeably.
Updated Z guides now published.
These are as long as will physically fit for maximum stability.
I've deleted the previous version.

I've modified the gantry guides so that they're as long as possible without fouling.
I'll upload them tomorrow.
It was going perfectly, until the X-axis jammed 2 hours in and the layer then slid by 5 mm.
I guess i need to try and print some new X guides to try and stop this. im thinking ones similar to the design you did for the Z axis guides.
Good luck!
today i have thrown caution to the wind and am now printing @Gareth Owen Z Axis guide. Its sying its a 8.5 /9 hour print. im an hour in currently and only 3% has been completed. Im hoping it completes iv only printed up to 3 hours currently.
I will of course let you know how it ends up!
@Gareth Owen if there was something I could get your help designing it would be this: belt tensioners.
I'm having trouble keeping my x-axis belt tensioned. I'm not able to come up with something.
Mine didn't come out exactly as it was drawn but it's still functional
Printing the cooling duct now!
