It seemed to me to read out there (which I am now unable to find) that there is another method to calibrate the height from the Z axis to the base. Could you explain a little here? Thank you :)

Make sure your z-axis isn't sticking before you attempt to find the z-offset. Lower the nozzle to 10-20 mm off the bed. Rotate the lead screw slowly by hand. If it doesn't slide smoothly, then you'll have to fix that 1st.
