Hi there!
I installed the dual hotend up to the point where the instructions end now (so there are still some parts missing).
There are some problems I see:
1. The motor on top that switches the hotends "steals" lots of room in Z height, so the full 30cm are not usable more like 25cm.
2. The shrouds (?) of the cooling fans are too low so they touch the printbed before the nozzle, even if the hotends are installed as low as possible
3. Installing the printbed in the center of the frame (like written in the instructions) leads to the printhead not being able to print on the full X size so I had to slide it about 10cm out of center.
Did I something wrong?
Best regards
Fabian
Hello Adeel,
although I am feeling with you in terms of stresslevel it is really frustrating to wait so long for a product, stealing as much time as possible from elsewhere just to get the printer built and afterwards not being able to use it while seeing that some of the promises getting not fulfilled or being announced differently like the build volume for example. From a customers standing point it's also not understandable that the building instructions are not final after the product has been shipped or even received. The very first thing is to build and use the long awaited product.
Hi Fabian,
1. The reduction in print heigh fro the dual setup is an unfortunate side effect, the single extruder set-up makes use of the full 300mm build height.
2. There might be a tolerance issue here, the bottom of the fan shrouds should be around 3mm higher than the tip of the nozzle. We will likely be releasing files for printing shorter fan shrouds to correct. You should be able to print fine for the moment by removing the fan shrouds.
3. That is correct, this needs to be updated in the instruction. We should have it ready by the end of the week, please bear with us, we are working through a lot of things at the moment, but should have it all done very soon.
