I am trying to get the movement of the tool carriage on the gantry figured out. I have hit a snag in getting it to move correctly. The tool carriage sounds like it is dragging on something unless i loosen the eccentric nuts but this creates an issue of wobble. Any suggestions of where to investigate or how to try and fix this?

Unfortunately it seems I am having the exact same issue...
Although it started after the final assembly :(.
it is indeed the metal noses that keep the belt in place that causes the scratching. And I double checked that all washers are built in correctly. Any suggestions other than disassembling everything again ;)?
I had the same issue first. I found out that one of the small metal parts that goes up from where you attach the belt was a little bit bent and dragged the side of the gap in the 2020 extrusion. I bent it slightly with a pair of pliers and the problem went away.
So, I don’t know what was causing my problem but I rebuilt the rollers and that seems to have fixed the problem putting on each side individually and tightening very slowly I don’t hear the rubbing and it moves pretty easily besides the tension of the motor.
So I might have the same issue - if "tool carriage"is the x or y axis where the hotend etc is attached to. It's the element that moves left/right when you stand in front of the printer (screen facing you). Sorry for the childish description...
When I move the hotend left/right, I hear it scratching and noticed that it shrubs on the black aluminium bar. I played around with the eccentric nuts and that apparently solved the problem to some degree. I have the hope that when the stepper motor actually drives the tool carriage, the elements wont touch each other and the problem is solved.
What else could we do to make the tool carriage move easier?
