Error:Printer halted. kill() called!

My X & Y motors have completely stopped working (Z is fine)

and I’m getting this error message:

Proforge>Tools>Home>Confirm

Error:Printer halted. kill() called!

anyone have an idea what’s going on?

Further to the Facebook post have you run a home command in pronterface to see what error comes up?

Hi Antony,

The Z works fine, but wen I home a red alarm pop up box appears with the same error code that previously came up on the printer touchscreen. And the only thing that comes up on pronterface is:

23:04:37.844 : N16 G28*36

23:04:49.066 : Error:Printer halted. kill() called!

I just want to check a couple of things on mine but it's early into a 24 hour print at the moment and due to daddytaxi I won't get chance until Saturday afternoon. Sorry but I appreciate that it's rustrating!

Check your X and Y endstops. Could be from failing to trigger them during homing, or them shorting out when triggered.

Hi Dataris. Yes good suggestion! I did actually think of this a few days ago so I did actually check. But I think I’ve actually found the issue with the 2 x TMC2100’s not working. I had a new TMC2208 that was a spare so tried it, and it worked! I’ve now ordered another to replace the TMC2100.
