I have noted that the thermistor type has changed in Merlin configuration.h from "1" to "11". This would imply some considerable change to the overall temperature behavior of the hotend.
@Makertech, can you confirm that type "11" (100k beta 3950) is now the correct type to be used with the AXIS printer?
Also, if the correct thermistor type is "11" now, does it mean that also Kp, Ki and Kd should be updated? If yes, would it be possible for @Makertech to provide these values?
PID values are just default values, you can enter your own PID setting by running this command:
M303 E0 S200 C8
More info on this is available here: https://reprap.org/wiki/PID_Tuning
Note, that PID values will vary depending on your setup (fan shroud, hotend cover) and room temperature.
You should run the command with the print fan on as it would be when printing.
What's the difference between the two?
I thought I was having problems with my thermistor and just replaced it with a NTP 100K. Figured that that the 1 setting was the best for it in this case.
Also, isn't the command "M303 E0 S200 C8 U". I normally don't at C8 because the default of 5 should be sufficient. However, the "U" flag should set the PID values for use. You then need to do a M500. All this is assuming that you're not going to copy the values from the output into Configuration.h and then rebuild and flash.
