Raspberry camera is shaking

in OctoPrint

Hi!

Has anyone created a successful timelapse?! Every video I recorded is an absolute mess with blurred video frames due to the fact that the printer/camera is shaking a lot. I even stabilized the camera with another 2020 extrusion on the endstop side of the X axis that enables me to mount the camera directly in the center of the build platform. I thought of creating a kind of gimbal/mechanical stabalizer to mount the camera on but there must be a better solution...? 😉

Thanks!

What type of Raspberry Pi are you using. The Pi 3B+ works the most reliably, if you're using the zero however, double check your cable connections as the adaptor means that there are 4 points of contact instead of 2.

3B+

It is physical shaking, not the cables

I may have found the problem and fixed it! The four little screws on the camera case got loose over time and this created this extreme shaking. I only recognized that because one loose screw made some noise when the printbed was moving. After tightening all screws the timelapses are a lot more watchable!
