@Makertech, The problem got progressively worse until the axis quit moving all together. The machine won't even home now. I've replaced both the motor and the driver and nothing has changed. I checked the wiring and connections. What should I look at next, I'm getting upset that I paid so much and have had it for so long and I still can't get it working. I've put money into it after purchasing just for the problems to stack up to uselessness. I may need a new electronics board... would that be the likely issue at this point? If so, how should I REQUEST a replacement? At this point I shouldn't have to pay for more replacement parts

@st-blum did you ever solve this problem? I'm having the same issue but on my y axis instead. I think my driver trimpot was adjusted incorrectly and killed my stepper motor. I ordered both a new driver board (as making fine adjustments made no difference by the time I tried fixing the problem) and a new stepper motor as I think it killed mine. Hopefully it fixes it

I think the motor driver was messed up and may have led to damage to the stepper motor. I've ordered replacements and will update when possible

I've done both these things, I'm still having the same problem though. Any other ideas?

Thermal issues with the bed are solved with insulation under the heat bed element. The metal bed is still warped, but I'm making due with that for now. Now I'm getting layer shifting on the hot end axis. I've checked that the lead screws are tight on the pulley and the belts are tensioned well. Any idea @Makertech ? The stepper driver adjustment maybe? The motor seems underpowered on that axis

This update appears to fix my initial problems, it prints for much longer and doesn't throw the same resend errors. I still haven't gotten a print to finish yet though. I thought it was going to finish a 5 hour test/ calibration print two nights ago after updating, but it hit a thermal runway error from the heatbed... nonetheless, it's a step in the right direction. I'll make some tweaks and report back

@Adrián Chacón Ordóñez All of my prints have been from the SD card. I haven't used octoprint as I don't have a pi to hook up to the printer (I have a couple but they're in dedicated use in separate projects they can't be removed from). I haven't run the print straight from the computer (this is possible, at least with other printers using various pc software), but I've monitored the codes sent back to my computer over USB using pronterface. Most of my print attempts have been with nothing hooked up to the printer, only the SD card.

@Dataris Remiel I've reflashed both marlin and the touchscreen firmware a couple times, but I'll try it once more. My printer stops like that when printing straight from the SD card also, with several different SD cards. If I stop and restart the same print from the same card it will stop at a different point during the print every time.

Unfortunately, having pronterface hooked up was not the work around I thought it may have been. I only made it about 2 percent through that print and it stopped for good like it always does. It appears to be a corruption or processing error. Like I said, every single print will fail at random. I've used multiple SD cards, different slicers, and now tried with a PC. I haven't been able to get a single print out of this thing. It used to go for longer, seem to make it closer to 100%, but has been failing earlier and earlier, yet still at random.

I'm still early in this print, but it seems pronterface talking to the printer over COM might be a work around for my particular situation (I'll update whether or not that's true). My print has stopped a few times already, but pronterface appears to be resending the same line command until it reads correctly, thus making the print continue. Error:No Checksum with line number, Last Line: 681 [ERROR] Error:No Checksum with line number, Last Line: 681 Resend: 682 This is still unacceptable, even if it means I'll get a successful print. Even when printing from an SD card I'll be required to have my laptop hooked into it and running for hours on end. Any ideas on what might be causing this issue? Should I be requesting replacement electronics?

So apparently my prints are failing for some other reason. I'm using makertech cura (the last update provided) for all the slicing, and even with benchy I'm getting strange errors. I've tried multiple SD cards, so I don't know what the problem is. @Makertech, I've yet to get a single successful print as I'm still having random freezes. Most of the time I can't even make it a solid 5 minutes into a print before the whole thing stops. I'm running the latest marlin and touchscreen firmware. I've reset the touchscreen and re-updated a couple times and my prints all fail at random points. The closest I've got to finishing even a benchy print is about 60% and that was one of the first prints I tried months ago. I'm getting a little upset about this. I've got another printer that I built forever ago from scratch which was much cheaper than this and so far works much better, which is disappointing. Can you please weigh in more on this issue?

Mine is doing the same, a couple different files all stop around an hour and a half to two hours into printing. Same symptoms

@dar.flem @Makertech After a little research, it would appear that the servos included in this kit, the MG996R, are very very poorly rated. 90 percent of the reviews for these servos say that most of them arrive dead, and the ones that work only work for an average of 20 minutes or so before they either start skipping teeth, seize up or have the motor die... People reviewing them advise to "avoid them like the plague." This is very disappointing. Should any of the higher end 180 degree servos work as a drop in replacement? Are the external casings for these the same dimensions? Something like a DS3225MG. Any input would be appreciated

Okay, it's the servo. I tested with a smaller one that I had laying around. My other servo works, so I guess the one in my kit is bad... Are you still sending replacement parts out?

The servo is not working. Everything else is working correctly, but the servo does not move. It doesn't move when turning the printer on, or when pressing any of the "more" buttons, 1, 2, or 3. Would this be the servo, or the control board?

The pfte tubes have to be fully inserted into the hotend. If the clogs are consistent then it's a good indicator that they might not be installed correctly. The hotend internals must be fully cleaned (a difficult process) and the tubes installed correctly

An update would be nice... Even if not to release the software, but to tell us a revised ETA or just give a status update. Again, I realize there's much work to be done, and no one is a miracle worker that makes something appear from nothing, but with a printer that is as of now dysfunctional unless I disassemble and reassemble to what is supposed to be a downgrade it would be a good gesture to give a little bit of information as to what is being done.
