I've swapped the USB cable twice with good quality cables, no difference. And there are lights on both boards. I did the 1susb and got a return that seems to confirm its seeing the usbs. I'll post the output tomorrow when I'm working on it. Many thanks.

Hi. In putty, when Im trying to get the usb id, 2 probems: when I put the host name into it it says unable to open connection, host does not exist. But when I type in the ip address it opens up ok. Not sure if this is a problem? main problem is when Is /I try to do 'ls /dev/serial/by-id/', putty says "ls /dev/serial/by-id/': No such file or directory. Ive googled it and cannot understand most of the answers. I swapped the usb cable and have done the usual switching on and off! Any help appreciated, thanks

I'm still building, about half way through. Taking my time as I enjoy the building and probably putting off the time when I have to tackle the software as I'm expecting a nightmare with that!

Could be too hot?

You seem to forget that this is a company that presumably works for at least a little profit. Hopefully they have more knowledge than I do so I'm very willing to pay extra for this knowledge. If you don't need this as you know what you're doing then fine, do your own thing.

A £250 price point is doable for me. Over that it would be a harder to balance the cost/ performance benefits.

To me it sounds good, but as you said it would be expensive. But compared to say a voron it would be a great machine. Hopefully you could pick some of the upgrades and not have to buy the whole set as I've already done some of these.

Yes the ptfe tube would bend and pop out the top. Swapped to a phaetus hot end which I guess is melting the filament quicker now no problem there.

I've just fitted an orbiter 2.0 and it seems better so far. Was easy swap as well.

I'm not an expert but I would re flash the screen and the controller. Maybe download the files for this to make sure they are the correct ones.

If you undo the screw that adjusts the extruder pressure it opens up and you can see the geared hobs. If it needs more than that I'm not sure.

The bearing definitely need a little lubrication. After that their fine.

no just the single hot end. The 40X40X20 fan def blows more air around but its also a fair bit noisier. Ive not even started on sorting out the DSH yet, until Ive got the single hot end running properly.

I was wondering that too. Presumably copy and paste the start and end g code and copy the other settings? Is there any difference between the mac and Windows versions of cura, settings wise? Cheers

I'm still having various issues. Current one is it will get about half an hour into a bench and the filament jams causing the ptfe tube between the extruder and the hotend to buckle and it then jams that space with filament. It's where the benches little cabin starts and I'm guessing it's got to do with retraction or something. Does and have any idea what it might be or could point me in the right direction? I agree with wakening it was good fun making it but if you're not hot on the firmware it's a pig.
