@Makertech haven't replied to any of my call outs on here and I can't see them starting now. They probably made about £4000 on this venture and know it's a dud.

I haven't done anything catastrophic. I've upgraded lots of parts. It's still not printing. There are no parts that I would use on anything else. The binmen can collect it on Wednesday.

Yeah, that bracket is only needed if the alignment of the motor and lead nut are out (which strains the spring coupling, as described). I engineered this out as much as possible with the Z guide and solid coupling - there is very little lead screw wobble on mine.

One of my mates adores my Prusa but baulked at the price. He was very interested in the Axis because of the price! I tried to persuade him in to getting the Prusa Mini. He went for the Ender3v2 and is printing some very intricate stuff with no problems at all. The price is low on the Axis for good reason.

There's just so much to sort out. Either a Prusa Mini copy or an i3 clone (which would be an Ender)

Every single accurately engineered addition I've fitted has only highlighted how poor the rest is. I can bolt a large piece of angle iron to the Z strut to straighten it but then there's the bed. My main frustration is that the producers of the Axis won't even hold their hands up and admit it's a shoddy piece of poorly engineered junk with no quality control.

I have a very light oil on everything. No problems anywhere except below 50mm. As there's nothing of interest or value on the Axis, I'll probably leave it on my front wall. If it hasn't vanished by Tuesday night, I'll put it in the bin.

I'll have a look but my main issue is with Z movement, especially below 50mm - it sticks and jumps which screws everything up.

I think I'm going to give up. I've got perfect guides, tried aluminum spring and rigid couplings, brass anti-backlash nut, etc and this 'thing' still won't print. I've dedicated far too many hours into trying. Finding that @Makertech supplied a malformed bed and upright and don't even respond on here means this 'thing' is junk/abandonware. If @Makertech had any confidence in this 'thing', they'd make a 1 shot video of pulling a random box from a batch, build the printer and then print a 300x200x200mm box. We all know that it's impossible, at our cost. The 'Axis' is the best advert for Prusa's Mini I've seen to date.

Here's my latest print... You can see where the nozzle dug in to the base layer but my settings are to retract 2 mm on layer change. My extrusion multiplier is down to 0.4!!! This printer isn't working for me. At all.

Yeah, apart from using the bed to mount a piece of proper flat plate, this printer is only going to be useful for small prints. The fact that both the bed and upright are banana-shaped is a huge failure of @Makertech - it took under a second to put a flat edge on these parts and their QC should have done this.

I've tried attaching 10mm aluminum H section to it and the H just bends. 1" angle iron is next. As I said, the bed is banana'd

The new Z guides just highlighted that the Z rail is a banana!

The alu/plastic design is much better than the 'spring' type alu one which promotes the lead screw to wind it like a spring. I've just fitted a solid alu coupling and am eager to give it a go!

Well. I'm sure this isn't helping... A straight edge placed at the bottom of the Z upright shows it's slightly bowed.
