Can't seem to figure out how to properly execute step 22 in the print platform installation.
The issue I have is with the front eccentric spacers: If I tightern the M5 nuits, the platform can hardly move. If I loosen the M5 nuts a bit, the eccentric spacers are loose, so the platform 'dances' around a bit when moving. I tried this like 20 times, but I never get this ok.
Any ideas on how to fix this is greatly appreciated!
What you want to do is tighten the M5 nuts almost completely so there's no wobble, but enough freedom for you to rotate the eccentric spacers with some pliers. Once that is done, take some pliers and slowly turn the eccentric spacer nuts. As you rotate them, the spacing between those rollers and the platform will change. The goal is to get them to the point where the platform doesn't wobble, but can still be moved with the force of a single finger. Then you can finish tightening down the non-eccentric side nuts. The same idea will happen for the tool carriage when you get there, slightly rotating the eccentric spacers to get tightness. You may need to come back and readjust the spacers once in a while even after final assembly as mechanical motion tends to cause them to adjust over time. If you notice the platform isn't moving smoothly during prints, this is one of the first things to check, alongside timing belt snags in the roller wheels.
