I see this all the time on my Klipper Proforge 3.5. Salty_Doug

My challenges have been mostly mechanical.

I followed the instructions and I ended up with Klipper and Mainsail. Over the last 2 months, I have experienced enough challenges with getting the printer to print a good first layer that I haven't tried deviating with the software setup. Actually I'm still having inconsistencies in the first layer if I try to print a 200 X 200 or larger object.

I don't recommend the upgrade. The Z platform/Carriage is not stable from one day to the next.

Hi Robin, I just went through the software installation again today and re-read your comment. I believe that you did not type the whole line. The Manual: ls /dev/serial/by-id/* Your Line: ls /dev/serial/by-id/ You missed the asterisk (*) at the end.

What speed are the X and Y moves when the gantry goes to home Z? It looks like the motors can't keep up. The Z Home should be in the middle of the bed, 150mm X 150mm less the probe offset.

Hi Olivier, My printer was having issues so I re-loaded Mainsail software on the RP4 SD card. I went through all the software loading procedure and the offset calibrations for the Z-Probe ant the two extruder nozzles. I would home the axies, perform a Z_Tilt_Cal, then calibrate the Z-offset. It took me a few iterations before I saw consistent results. I did not enable the Bed Mesh calibration but I seem to be getting good 1st layer results. Here are the .STL files I made.

I tried the Z_TILT_ADJUST on mine and I got a different result . It looks like there is a difference of 0.218mm low to high. I have done this calibration many times with similar results. Any ideas on Why the difference? What editor are you using to comment on this forum?

I open a browser window to 'mainsail.local' where I control my Klipper printer. I locate the .gcode file in Finder/Explorer then drag it to the mainsail window.

I found that the second motor was not dead. The angle for T1 was set too far so the servo arm was trapped. When I changed the angle from 8 to 15 degrees, the servo worked perfectly.

The second Servo motor just died. I will wire the +5vdc through the relay and post again after a few days.

I have added the offsets to my T0 and T1 macros and I am ready to try again, but my servo motor has died. I have a replacement on order, so I'll let you know when I'm back up.

Hi Olivier, Since the Mesh software did not compensate to within 50 microns, I then wanted to measure the bed itself. I still had the old Z-Rods from the 3.0 kit so I used one of the rods and placed it across the corners of the bed. I could see a 1mm gap in the center. I rolled the rod to make sure it was straight. It looks like neither the bed nor the mesh leveling software are working.

Hi Olivier, Like you i am suspicious of the Bed Mesh routine. I re-leveled the bed by adjusting each of the z-motors to get the 4 corners at the same height with a 10 X 10 pattern. This is as close as I got after 3 hours. I then assumed that the Mesh calculation would compensate so I ran my Z-Test samples in a 5 sample pattern. These samples are 0.20mm thick squares that I made in Fusion 360. I hope the picture comes out good:

I fixed it. There was a broken wire at the 24v power supply.

HI Olivier, I was able to enable Bed Mesh in my printer, thanks. Here is the first calibration, I did it cold so I could see the results quickly. It looks like the print bed would make a good primary mirror in a Dobsonian telescope. ;^) I am a mechanical engineer and i have some experience mounting precision optics. I have ordered a set of 4 leveling washers that will go between the Mic-6 plate and the standoffs. these will remove any bending torque applied to the plate from the standoffs.
